The County of Brant is developing a Community Energy Plan to better understand how energy is used, supplied and planned for across homes, businesses, farms, transportation and County operations.
The plan will look for practical ways to use energy more efficiently, conserve energy, cut greenhouse gas emissions, and plan for future needs. A Renewable Energy Roadmap will also explore renewable and lower-carbon options that could suit Brant.
What it will not do: the County does not control energy supply, pricing or utility expansion, and this plan will not extend natural gas lines or other utility services — those decisions rest with energy providers and provincial rules.
How to get involved: from October 2026 through January 2027 the County is sharing easy-to-understand information about how energy works in Brant, with community events and activities. Starting in February 2027, residents, businesses, farmers and community organizations will be invited to share their experiences, priorities and ideas to help shape the plan.
